Being a teacher for four hours

Earlier today, the whole institution was celebrating Personnel's Day. More of like teachers' day for some other schools. It was the best Personnel's Day ever since we, the seniors, got the chance of being part of the "Student-Personnel" today. And I was the homeroom adviser of one of the five classes in the first year. That means, noisy class.

Yesterday, I talked to the adviser of the class I was assigned at to get the activity to be done supposedly today. But he just let me watch over them and let them do their paper works and other stuff with an additional creepy fact: his class is said to be the noisiest among the first years.

Based on my observations since first day of classes till now, his class was the least noisiest. And I was proven right when I had my chance this morning.

As I entered the school premises, my heart was beating fast. I was going to be someone that I wanted to be when I grow up: a teacher. Yes, you got that right. I will be taking up a course of secondary education in Physics-Mathematics this June (and yes, I passed the entrance examination in my university of choice with flying colors xD) and my earlier experience inspired me to pursue.

I only had 20 minutes to prepare myself with the things I had to wear (semi-formal decent clothes, the kind that teachers wear during their wash day) and when I reached the classroom, I was not the only one unprepared. We all rushed down the hallway towards the comfort rooms and changed hurriedly. It was a tremendous and funny experience since we all had the skirts and the blouses but when it came to our footwear, we were wearing our white rubber shoes. It was a pretty funny sight!

Then again, we ran and changed to our high-heeled sandals and all our accessories and stuff. I exerted a lot of effort on my dress-up because I wanted to make the most out of this opportunity to be a teacher even for four hours.

7 AM came and we were supposed to move towards our respective classes. I was more nervous. Thoughts bothered me: would they like me? Would they throw things at me (which in fact, another student-teacher was thrown with a chalk by a student which somehow gave me the creeps)? Would they disrespect me?

But I just went with the flow. And it turned out to be good, which was unexpected.

We had a Mass held in honor of our Personnel. And of course, the student-teachers had to be with their classes, completely behaving as a real teacher. The students squatted when they were supposed to be squatting while we were sitting down on our white chairs, just as the teachers would do during an institutional Mass. And when the priest was pointing at us, the eyes of our teachers were on us. Hahahahaha

The rest of the day went on smoothly, most especially the fact that I gained friends from the class assigned to me. It was an amazing experience, getting to know your "students" and chatting with them and be "in sympathy" with their difficulties since they were adjusting to high school life.

I realized how difficult it is to be a teacher and I salute all teachers who do their parts well and amazingly. I experienced what it was like to walk around with high heels all morning, what's more if it were for the whole day?

Overall, today was really amazing.

Take a deep breath

Met up with IP partner in Starbucks for doomsday Tuesday. Help us, Lord! Had our fingers crossed for tomorrow's classroom defense. I hope it will turn out to be good. And thanks also to another companion, a best friend from the other class, who assisted us with all those bunch of questions that hit our brains hard. :)

Got that McDo's dangler for P39. Hahahaha if not for my eyes who spotted them on top of the fries stove thingy, I wouldn't have discovered these babies. Just got the coffee. Hahaha

Uhm.

Filet-o-fishy not mine. Hahahaha just borrowed it for this group pic :>

Finally got the fries dangler! Hahahaha

This mighty Canon. Fear it.

Generally, I had a wonderful day. I guess this serves as my "loosening-up" moment before welcoming the final quarter of my senior year tomorrow, with bundles of events.

Probably a year has passed since I deleted my previous blog. Then, just a few hours ago, I deleted my 2-month-old Tumblr blog. I'll redo Tumblr once summer begins :)

And now, I'm back, ready to roll my blog with some life-changing experiences, most especially I have two months left to enjoy high school.

Well, enough said. :)
